Lost Park After Updating to DragonVale 3.9.0

I just updated DragonVale and I'm not seeing my park! What happened??

DragonVale will now allow you to choose from any parks associated with your current device and social accounts (Game Center or Facebook). If you have just updated to DragonVale 3.9.0 and you aren't seeing your usual park, you may need to select the correct park from the new Park Select menu.

To access the Park Select menu:

  1. Open DragonVale and tap the “Options” icon
  2. Tap the “Switch Parks” button
  3. Tap the park you wish to play
  4. Tap the “Yes” button to confirm you want to load the selected park
  5. DragonVale will now reload with your chosen park

Please note: If you currently have multiple parks associated with more than one Facebook or Game Center account, you will need to sign into each one of those accounts in DragonVale at least once. Once you have signed into DragonVale with each of your accounts at least once, you should be able to view all of your parks in the Park Select menu.

If you still aren't seeing your usual park in the Park Select menu, please send us an email at support@backflipstudios.com and we will help you find your lost park. Please include the type of device you are playing on and your Game Center nickname or Facebook name if you have one.

Creating New Parks

With the DragonVale 3.9.0 update it is now easily possible to have multiple parks on the same device! This is great news for families that share a device, or for those who just can’t get enough DragonVale and would like to have more than one park.

How do I create a new park?

Creating a new park is so easy it’s almost like magic! Here’s how:

  1. Open DragonVale and tap the “Options” icon
  2. Tap the “Switch Parks” button
  3. Tap the “Create A New Park” button
  4. Tap “Yes” to confirm you want to create a new park
  5. DragonVale will reload and you will be launched into your new park

Can I change the name of my park?

Yes you can! To rename your park, simply tap the “Options” icon, then tap where it says "Default Park Name". You can then enter a new name for the park. Please note: you can only change the name of your park once you have completed the tutorial.

Switching Between Parks

How do I switch to a different park?

If you have multiple parks on the same device, DragonVale makes it easy to switch between them. Here’s how:

  1. Open DragonVale and tap the “Options” icon
  2. Tap the “Switch Parks” button
  3. Tap the park you wish to play
  4. Tap the “Yes” button to confirm you want to load the selected park
  5. DragonVale will now reload with your chosen park

When you’re ready to switch back to another park, simply return to the Options menu, tap the “Switch Park” button, and select the park you wish to play next.

Please note: If you currently have multiple parks associated with more than one Facebook or Game Center account, you will need to sign into each one of those accounts in DragonVale at least once. Once you have signed into DragonVale with each of your accounts at least once, you should be able to view all of your parks at once in the Park Select menu.

How does DragonVale know which park to load when I open the game?

Good question! If you have more than one park, DragonVale will automatically load the park you played last. If you would like to switch to a different park, simply tap the “Options” icon, then tap the “Switch Parks” button and choose the park you want to play.

Additionally, you can tell DragonVale to ask which park you want to play each time you open the game. This is really helpful for players with several parks, or for families that share one device.

To show the Park Select menu each time you open DragonVale:

  1. Open DragonVale and tap the “Options” icon
  2. Tap the “Switch Parks” button
  3. Check the box next to “Show Select Park on Startup”

You will now see the park select screen each time you open DragonVale. You can turn this off at any time by unchecking the box again.

Hiding Parks

I have old parks that I don’t play anymore. Can I hide those?

Yes, you can! If you would like to limit the park selection list to only parks you are actively playing, you can do so by following the instructions below:

  1. Open DragonVale and tap the “Options” icon
  2. Tap the “Switch Parks” button
  3. Tap the “View Hidden Parks” button
  4. Hide/Show parks by tapping on them
  5. Once you’re done, tap the “View Hidden Parks” button again to return to the park select screen

Any parks you've hidden will no longer appear in the park select screen. You can show them again at any time by tapping the "View Hidden Parks" button and tapping the park you wish to unhide.

Can I delete parks I don’t want anymore?

Good question! Parks cannot be permanently deleted in order to prevent them from being deleted accidentally. However, if you have a park you no longer wish to play you can hide it from the profile select screen using the above instructions.

Gem Gifting

With the new ability to create multiple parks on the same device, we’ve made a few changes to the way gem gifting works. Here are answers to some of the questions you may have.

What time do my gems reset each day?

The gems you can give to your friends now reset daily at 11am MST. Once you've given out all your gems for the day you will not be able to give any more until 11am MST on the following day.

How many gems can I give each day?

By default, players can give 3 gems from each park per day. The maximum number of gems that can be gifted without the Dragonsai Tree or Dragonsai Bush is now 9 gems per device, per day. So if you had 3 different parks on the same device, you could give 3 gems to your friends from each of those parks each day. If you only have one park nothing will change and you will be able to give your 3 gems per day as usual.

What if I have the Dragonsai Tree or Dragonsai Bush? Can I give more than 9 gems per day?

If you have the Dragonsai Tree or Dragonsai Bush, you can give extra gems in addition to the default 9 per day - 3 extras from the Dragonsai Tree, and 1 extra from the Dragonsai Bush.

It is important to note the Dragonsai Tree and Bush only affect the parks they are contained in. So if you have two parks, one with the Tree, Bush, or both, and one without, only the park that contains the Tree or Bush will be able to gift additional gems. The other park will be limited to the standard 1 gem to 3 friends each day.

Can I give more than one gem to a single friend?

If you only have one park you can only give 1 gem to 3 different friends per day. If you have multiple parks, you can gift a single friend one gem from each of those parks, up to the limit of 9 gems per device, per day.

Why can't I see all of my friends or send them gifts?

For privacy reasons, if you have more than one Game Center or Facebook account being used on the same device, you will only be able to access the friends list associated with the account you are currently signed into. To view or send gifts to friends added to a different Game Center or Facebook account, you would need to sign out of the current account and into the other.

If I have more than one park which park will the gems from my friends go to?

As it is now possible for players to have multiple parks attached to the same account, the gems sent from your friends will automatically go to the last park you were logged into.
