PlunderNauts FAQ

The game crashed, disconnected, or won’t load – what do I do?

If you are experiencing any of the following issues:

• The game won’t load properly or is stuck on the loading screen.

• An error message pops up that says “Internal Error”

• The game is frozen or is running very slowly.

Please try power cycling your iOS device. You can do this by:

1. Pressing and holding the power button (on the top of your device) until

prompted to “Slide to power off.”

2. Slide the toggle to the right.

3. After the device has turned off, wait 10 seconds then press and hold the

power button until the device powers back up.

If this does not solve your problem:

You can also uninstall and reinstall PlunderNauts. Please note some extra steps in our uninstall/reinstall process. It is important to follow all of them in order. Also, if you are playing a LOCALLY game meaning one not stored through Game Center, please do not uninstall the game as this will erase your data.

1. Uninstall PlunderNauts by pressing and holding the PlunderNauts icon. When it begins to wiggle and an ‘X’ appears in the top left corner, tap the ‘X’ (All game data is backed up on our server and associated with your Game Center ID. Your data will not be lost!!)

2. Sign out of Game Center.

3. Sign back into GameCenter (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4314)

4. Reinstall PlunderNauts through the App Store.

5. Power cycle your device.

If you are still having issues, please email us via the in-app Support button, or at support@backflipstudios.com. Please be sure to include your Game Center nickname in the email.

I got a screen with a Konnection Kracken – what does that mean?

If you are getting a connection error, or see the Konnection Kraken screen, this means that at some point during play you were disconnected from the Internet. Unfortunately there isn’t much support we can provide. Check your WiFi/3G/4G connection and make sure your signal is strong. Sometimes this issue resolves itself, but you should call your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Wireless provider if you have this issue repeatedly.

You could also try power cycling your device. You can do this by:

1. Pressing and holding the power button (on the top of your device) until

prompted to “Slide to power off.”

2. Slide the toggle to the right.

3. After the device has turned off, wait 10 seconds then press and hold the power button until the device powers back up.

I can’t install the game from the App Store – please help!

If you are unable to install PlunderNauts from iTunes app store, please check that your device has enough free memory to install it. PlunderNauts requires at least 175mb free in order to install the game. If you do not have at least 175mb available, please delete old or unused apps or files from your device before attempting to download PlunderNauts again.

What is a maintenance break, and why do you have them?

Since PlunderNauts is a server-based game requiring an active Internet connection, a maintenance break can be a regular occurrence. Maintenance breaks are typically needed to update the servers, upload fixes for minor bugs or improvements to gameplay, or to upload new game content! Server maintenance notifications will be sent via Twitter, Facebook, and the official forums to provide users with as much advance notice as possible.

I can’t buy any Gold or Antimatter bundles from the in-game Store– why?

If you are unable to purchase a Gold or Antimatter bundle from the game store, please check that your device has been enabled to make in-app purchases.

First, check to make sure that in-app purchases are enabled on your device:

1. Tap your “Settings” icon.

2. Select “General”

3. Select “Restrictions”

4. Scroll down to “In-App Purchases” and make sure that the toggle switch is set

to “ON”

5. Next, make sure your billing account information in iTunes is up to date.

If you are still having issues, it may be caused by poor connectivity during the

purchase attempt. Please make sure your device is connected to either WiFi or your

cellular network (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.).

Lastly, please ensure you have the correct date/time settings on your device.

1. Tap your “Settings” icon.

2. Select “General”

3. Select “Date & Time” and ensure that the Time Zone/Time and Date are

correct.

• Purchased using Gold within the in-game Store.

I have a high player level, but keep losing. What should I do?

If you have reached a high player level, but are still having difficulties beating battles, check the level of your Starship or equipment. If your Starship and equipment are a lower level that your current player level, you can use the Forge to upgrade your items and Starships to get them to your current player level.

You can also use Gold to purchase weapons and equipment at your player level within the in-game Store.

1. Go to the Shipyard.

I switched ships. What happened to my equipped items?

Any weapons and equipment on a Starship will remain equipped on that Starship unless you drag them back into your Inventory. If you have switched to a different active Starship, you will need to remove the equipment from your previously active Starship before you can use them again.

To unequip items from your Starship:

1. Go to the Shipyard.

2. Tap the Starships tab.

3. Select your previously active Starship.

4. Drag the items you wish to unequip off of the Starship and back into your Inventory.

NOTE: You will need to select the corresponding Item Tab to move items of a certain type. For example, to unequip a Turret, tap the Turrets Tab, and then drag the turret into your Inventory.

Why can’t I shoot those Fighters and Bombers?

Fighters and Bombers can only be shot by Blaster turrets, Laser turrets, and Missile turrets. If your Starship has only Torpedo turrets and Cannon turrets equipped, you will not be able to shoot enemy Fighters and Bombers.

If you are having difficulty completing a battle due to enemy Fighters and Bombers, make sure your Starship has at least one Blaster turret, Laser turret, or Missile turret. You can also equip and use your own Squadrons to take out enemy Fighters and Bombers!

I uninstalled and reinstalled, and my stuff is gone!

This can happen if you had to change your AppleID password, updated your iOS, were required to agree to new Apple Terms of Service, created a new Game Center nickname, or logged out of Game Center altogether.

First, open the Game Center app and make certain you are logged in to your GameCenter account with the same account under which you were previously playing.

If you need to retrieve your Game Center password or account information, please contact Apple support as we do not have access to that information.

If a technical situation requires a data transfer, please send an email request via the in-app Support button. We will do our best to accommodate. But in general we do not perform data transfers.

Will I lose my game data or start back at Level 1 if I uninstall PlunderNauts from my device?

All game data is backed up on our server and associated with your Game Center nickname. Even if you uninstall the game from your device, we will store your game components. This includes, but is not limited to, Starships, weapons and equipment, Gold and Antimatter, and all other items in the game.

If you are playing locally, meaning you aren't using Game Center at all - please email us via the in-app Support button before uninstalling the game. If your game is not associated with a Game Center account and you uninstall, this effectively removes your progress from the device and makes it very difficult for us to recover progress.

If a technical situation requires a data transfer, please send an email request via the in-app Support button. We will do our best to accommodate. But in general we do not perform data transfers.
